Secretory otitis media in a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

This video shows the effects of secretory otitis media in a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Here you can see the bulging ear drum and viscid amber fluid that escapes from the middle of the ear when a hole is made in the ear drum. This type of procedure is known as myringotomy.

The video details the flushing of the middle of the ear in the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. You can see the placement of the tube through the Storz Video Otospcope and the myringotomy incision to flush fluid through the middle of the ear.

Following on from the myringotomy incision to flush fluid from the ear, this video is a detailed view inside the middle of the ear, showing abnormal mucosa and some remnants of debris.
